Not so long into retirement, I received a diagnosis of Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia and I have made a ‘deceptively beautiful’ series that celebrates this change in life. Recently I suffered a bout of flu. The prints in this exhibition are the result of photographing my left hand with a camera in my right while recovering in bed. The prints are made through a photopolymer direct-to-plate process with exposed plates developed in water and dried in the sun before being inked, with black warmed ink, by my right hand.
