The intention of the series is to give the HD images a hand drawn background or surround to set them off against, rather than being a printed photographic image. This can be done one one plate as Freecom2007. However creating a second layer, not unlike iPad layering, might prove more effective. To ensure a second plate is made to register with the first a process of reverse print can be adopted. This entails inking up the first plate and taking a print while locking the paper in the press. Register blocks are used to remove the first plate and replacing it with the second. The first print on paper will register exactly with second plate as the ink from the paper will be transferred to the second plate, which will be the basis for drawing a second layer.
